Suggestions on where to look for used bike options? I'm looking for something cheap to cruise in the neighborhood and local paths. I plan to look at the pawn shops, but would appreciate suggestions on other places to look. Thanks.
Any leads. other than craigslist, on a good place to find a new ride? Looking for a commuter or road bike in the 200-300$ range. Thanks in advance folks

Recommendations for a bike shop that sells used bikes I want to buy a bike as a secondary mode of transportation and I'm on a tight budget, which means I have to buy a used one for now. I have no idea what kind of bike I want, features, etc. which is why I want to go to a bike shop and not search for one on Craigslist. Any suggestions on a good shop that can offer a used bike for no more than $250? I don't care what area of town. All I know is there are many bike shops here and I have no idea where to even begin.

Looking for the best bike shops in town Hoping to get some great recommendations on bike shops.
I'm looking for a bike shop to tune/repair my road bike, and I'm looking for a good shop to buy a good used bike at (looking to pick up a new mountain bike).
Does anyone know a good bike shop that they recommend where I can get my bike fixed? I just moved to Austin and need to get my speed bike back into shape and need a good bike shop recommendation, thanks!~Amber
Austin! I need your best bike shop recommendations! Austin is a bike town and my GF just bought an excellent Raleigh vintage bike. It's going to be great, but we need some place to take it if it needs more than a simple tire change. What are your bike shop recommendations?

Looking for inexpensive bike shops I am looking for an inexpensive bike shop to buy parts and also for cheap service. I usually do my own work unless its truing a wheel (I'm dyslexic). I also want to know how the local bike collectives work and what their prices. How can I volunteer for these collectives?

A cheap bike shop I use a lot is the bike farm (austinbikefarm.com). The other day I went in because I had snapped a derailleur cable. The guys there took out my old cable, put a new one on, and calibrated for me, all for the cost of the cable ($5). As far as collectives go, you might just google Austin yellow bike project, they have a website with good info.
Does anyone know of an Austin shop that carries affordable used/vintage road bikes? I have been looking around craigslist but have not been able to find anything too appealing. With all the used and vintage road bikes rolling around town I thought there must be a good shop somewhere with a selection of affordable fixer-uppers. I haven't found it yet.
