What wood is Pipesafe? I'd like to make a pipe out of wood from my garden. I have seen cherry being recommended, but wanted to ask if purple-leaf Plum is safe to use. Is there a list or something where I can check it or does anybody know if it is or isn't safe to use? Thanks in advance.

Cherry, oak, briar root, corn cob, rosewood, olive, mesquite, and bog wood are all common pipe woods. If you have any questions about seeking other woods than the ones I listed. www.wood-database.com is good place to check for wood toxicity and potienial wood allergies.
I picked up this bar cart today for $30. Needs a lot of cleaning up but I love it! Does anyone know anything about it? I'm going to find an online tutorial to teach myself how to identify types of wood!

Here's a bit of info on wood ID from the web: http://www.acf.org/pdfs/summit/fitzsimmons.pdfhttp://www.wood-database.com/.../wood-identification-guide/ http://www2.ca.uky.edu/KYWoodlan.../Vol6_No1/FOR101 pg4-6.pdf
