Can anyone give me basic tipps about SEO? Or a site/ressource where I can get deeper into the subject? Planning to build a homepage for my non-job!

Luckily I have a close friend who specializes in SEO and I have spent alot mof time with him over the last few months learning about it. Its massively complicated, always changing, takes alot of time and your competitors probably have an entire team em ployed just to focus on it. In a nut shell (and believe me its way more complicated than this) Google looks at; How much relevant/unique content is on your site in relation to keywords, How quickly your website loads/performs, Who you are linking to from your website, Who is linking to your website and how easily visitors navigate it. With this in mind their are a number of things you can do to help your rankings. - Make sure your urls use keywords. for example google hates urls like this; mywebsite.com/fhf?%454.php it would much rather; mywebsite.com/non-job-campaign - Use a mixture of specific and broad keywords for your pages. for example for a page about travelling in italy you could use; mywebsite.com/travel-italy (broad) or mywebsite.com/the-best-way-to-travel-italy-2014 (specific). - Make sure you have lots of text on your page that is relevant to the URL and the keywords you are targeting. Hyperlink the text to other good websites. So lets say you want to write a page about travelling through Italy. it would be mywebsite.com/how-to-travel-italy then when you mention 'Rome' you would hyperlink it to the Wikipedia page on Rome. - Dont have loads of images making your page loading time shit, compress the images down - Dont link to shitty websites - Try and get decent websites to link to you, in particular any .gov .edu websites are a dream at linking to you for SEO. Try and contact popular bloggers in your subject area linking them to your article and you never know. - Put hyperlinks in your text that link to other pages on your own website Anyway I could go on but thats some simple ways to improve your SEO, basically Wikipedia is like googles dream website, how its linked, referenced etc. Also you can this test: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ Which shows you how much google likes your page and how to improve on it, it should really be 80/100+ Hope this helps a little smile emoticon
