  Electrician Help/Referral? Hello electricians/home improvers of r/pittsburgh, ​ I'm looking for recommendations or referrals on electricians to help me update the breaker box in my detached garage (separate meter). I'm pretty comfortable around electricity (I'm a robotics engineer) so I can easily handle replacing and rewiring all the individual breakers. All I really need is help replacing the box which requires disconnecting the meter which requires a licensed electrician. The current box is an old Pushmatic, 100amp service that's got no room left and I want to update it to more modern GE box with more slots for breakers. ​ Last time I got a quote from an electrician on Angie's list and he want $1800 for the job, citing the cost of an inspector.   Help! Does anyone know a local electrician to do a small side job? I ripped apart two bedrooms and have never seen wiring like this! I thought I knew basic wiring .... I just want to bypass the whole birds nest and go straight to the basement panel box!
