Good mechanics that wont rip off women I'm looking for someone to look at my 01 Ford explorer sport! I already know there are many things wrong with it but not trying to get overcharged. Does anyone know anyone with good experience or someone with a shop?
I am new to Austin and know no one here! Thanks in advance!!

Anyone recommend a good Austin auto mechanic? I can do most myself, but need a honest pro for the big or rush jobs. Likely getting an old Honda, Ford, or Subaru.

Request: labor-only mechanic Can anyone recommend a mechanic who's willing to install parts that I will bring to them? I'm not really interested in a warranty on parts - the car's not the best, but I just want to get the AC working before summer. The dealerships and Lamb's wanted $1400 to replace the compressor and dehydrator in my 2008 Mazda 3, and they claimed that $900 of that is for the compressor alone. I don't mind installing a used compressor with the full knowledge that the life won't be as long - and the cost is about a quarter of brand-new.
I've heard good things about Luu Auto up on Lamar. Any recommendations?

Yeah, go to Joe & Travis at Century Automotive, near Burnet & North Loop. I occasionally order parts off the Internet and they install them for just labor. Tell them Chris sent ya. They're pretty good at A/C work too. http://www.yelp.com/biz/century-automotive-austin-2
Does anybody know of a credible mechanic in the North Austin area? Or just the Austin area? Mechanics can be so skeezy. I've found the best way to find ones that won't rip you off is by asking around. I really need some work done.

Century Automotive - http://www.yelp.com/biz/century-automotive-austin-2 I've been using these guys for 10 years now, for 3 cars. It's owned by Joe & Travis (father & son), they're honest and know what they're doing. It's at Burnet & North Loop.
Looking for a good Austin Mechanic. Hey guys, I got in a fender bender this morning and now my
radiator is pushed in a little and it's leaking radiator coolant.
Obviously I'd like to stay away from the corporate car places.
I'm originally from New Braunfels and I have a great mechanic
there but I don't know how easily I'll be able to get my van down there.
I drive a 2000 Ford Winstar, if you know anything specific about this problem.
**Do you guys have any preference in mechanics here in Austin?**
Thanks!
