  I thought I saw on here some time ago about volunteers helping disabled/elderly with gardening jobs - does anyone know who I would need to contact please?

  Sue You are correct. They have officially stopped doing gardening services as were being asked to do huge clearance jobs etc. They just do small household repairs and things so would fix garden gates and the like. They advise people to contact either Ken Lynch (His number is 01767 681739) or Help the Aged who do offer gardening for the elderly.

  The Good Neighbours don't do gardening as a rule as that is covered by Ken Lynch's group.

  I've been asked on the behalf of ken lynch to put this appeal out , there is a need for snow cleaners for the elderly he has only 4 volunteers and needs more as there are a lot of elderly who do not have family's or they are not able to help them clear the snow , he is looking for ages 14yrs and above but anyone who is under 16 must have permission from parents or carers ,many thanks tel ken on 01767 681739 x

  There will be someone manning the main telephone number for this project through out the day, and through the evening. If you are off work, please help out, call the number and they will direct you to where the snow clearing is happening (no previous experience necessary). Wrap up warm, make friends and help out :) If you, or you know someone who is elderly or sick who wants to, but can not get out due to snow, call the hotline on 01767 681739, and if there is no answer call 07733 205593
