Looking for a phone holder for a F56 S, anyone find a good one?

I like using a combination of a Pro-Clips mount with a Scosche magnet mount. Pro-Clip part: http://www.proclipusa.com/dashboard-mounts/vehicle/mini/cooper-hardtop/2015.cmsv Scosche part: http://www.scosche.com/mmsurface You just touch your phone to the mount and it stays there. I've used this in my Countryman for the past year and it is perfect.
For driving directions, is it best to have a GPS installed in your car or use a smartphone GPS? I don't have either, trying to figure out which one to get. If a GPS, any brand or installer you would recommend? Thanks!

I use TomTom for my phone and it updates the maps for life for free. You do have to be on a Wifi for the updates unless you want it to eat up data. It does ask if you want to update first. The TomTom doesn't use very much data and I use the GPS quite a bit. I have a dash mounted clip installed and voice turned on. The TomTom system will work without a cell signal if needed and will use your GPS location to communicate with the satellites. The clips for most phones or GPS systems can be found at http://www.proclipusa.com/
YO! I'm looking for some recommendations for a smart phone holder for inside the GP and our 2004 MC S. The tach mounted holders I've seen bounce during normal driving...so what other choices are there?
