Those with shared driveways and neighbour disputes... Share some wisdom. We share a mutual driveway with an angry old man who thinks we cannot park in our back. As we have a detached house, and he has a semi, we have a larger parking pad area in our back that allows us to perfectly park our Honda Fit. He cannot, as he only has about a meter beyond the "shared right of way", which according to our survey extends right up the lines of the house walls. So my car is outside of the right of way, on my sole property. He picks a fight with me every time I park in the back. Today I recorded him telling me he is going to block me in so I lose a days work. I am so tired of this drama. I am parked completely on my property, outside of the shared right of way (mutual drive). I explained this to him, and that if he didn't have a porch in his driveway, and he could get a car completely on the other side of the line from the wall, he to could park there, but he can't. Who do I call, what do I do? I know by-law will tell me this is a civil matter. So how do I deal with civil matters? Is there pro bono mediation services etc? An off duty officer I can pay to come explain this to him?
