Does anyone happen to know of a good vet in central NH that has Addison's disease knowledge and is pretty reasonable? Just to check electrolytes yesterday it was...

Sheryl Behnke, his percorten is 1.5 ml now, checked his lytes at 14 days after lowering his dose. The prednisone is 5 MG a day. Pretty high I feel, I brought up to her lowering that too. He is feeling great after lowering the percorten from 2.4 to 1.5:)
Elizabeth A. replied:
Angela Adams Shaw the best way to get costs down with percorten is to use low dose percorten. There is great info on it in the pinned post at the top of the page.
Debbie B. replied:
www.petrescuerx.com is an online source for Percorten and it is run by vets, perhaps your vet would consider them. Or I would bring up them price matching the $170 cost per vial cost. Learning to give the shots sub q is easy-trust me, there are many on here (myself included!) that figure if we can do it, almost anyone can do it! Vetting to lowest effective dose will also do wonders not only for your wallet but also will have your dog feeling their absolute best much more quickly!!

Angela Adams Shaw, every dog is difrnt, fe. My Adog takes 1 ml percorten and 1 mg prednisone. But I got there thanks to this group. You gave to shop around for the meds. I order from petrescuerx.com which should deliver to u. And like Sheryl Behnke said, tell them u can't afford it or move on.
Those who give percorten at home, where do you get your bottle from if you use a pharmacy other than your vet? Are you happy with them? Price? TIA!
Debbie B. replied:
www.petrescuerx.com AND you can designate a animal charity to receive the profits from the sale-I choose AddisonDogs out of California (that;s us!) as all money goes to AARF, providing temporary financial help to ADogs in need! About $170 per vial.

Lynn, 1800 petmeds ships fine to Canada, I have just recieved my order from them, took 8 days total from the time of order to when it was in my mailbox. Also we are the other side of Canada from where you are, so you should get it quicker, They ship from Florida. They price match and when I phoned them they called Valley vet to do the price match Ididnt have to even try to do that part. They are super to deal with.
I get my percorten from my vet but it's pricy, any suggestions where you can get it other than vet.

I got Gabbys Percorten from 1800 petmeds for $170 a vial and now Gabby is on low dose, just over .5 ml it works out very inexpensive, as Gabby has insurance I am not concerned if it cost more but I am happy for the insurance comany to pay less for the meds. works out a little more than $21 a month.
might the arbitrators of this group kindly recommend reputable, safe sources for purchasing percorten-v? i understand that my vet would need to call in a prescription...
Elizabeth A. replied:
Ok then I would choose Pet Rescue Rx. They are awesome and donate all profits to animal rescue. You can Choose Addison Dogs out of CA for your pet charity and the money goes to help Addison Dogs in need. http://www.petrescuerx.com/
