Kyle Greiner according to this save a pet doesn't get funded for the low cost spay program anymore. It looks like "friends of animals" is the next best option for $90. A friend of mine did that program and said it was great.

I think a week to 10 days. Pain medicine were $20, but each vet charges different prices for pain medicine etc. We took our pitbull to All Creatures Animal Hospital on Transit Road, they accept Friends Of Animal certificates.
Justine G. replied:
Operation Pets fixed my kitty for $50! It's located in Blasdell and if you meet specific qualifications you can actually get it done for free
Jessica S. replied:
Go to http://friendsofanimals.org/spay_neuter_certificate_information and type in your zip code. They have certificates at a low cost. I got my puppy fixed for like $60 with this certificate, pine woods animal hospital accepts the certificates - I'm not sure where else but it will tell you if you put in your zip

I paid $64 to have my dog neutered through Friends of Animals program. All you do is pay for the certificate online, have it mailed to your house and then find a vet that participates with that program and schedule it's appt. Just give them the certificate and all we had to pay for was pain medicine. http://friendsofanimals.org/programs/spaying-neutering/spay-and-neuter-certificates
Anyone know where I can get a cat spayed for lower cost than the vet? I thought there was somewhere on here not long ago in batavia or elba area but can't remember. Tia.
Safe to have your animals spay and neutered with Dr. Long ! He has done many and continues to do them for many shelters! Sally and Ann are great ladies too!'!!

I heard bad things about harvester st. On another post when someone asked about vets. Join WNY pets on Facebook. They post cheap good ones a lot.

It is a far drive, but Operation Pets. In Blasdell. Free for those on public assistance and very low cost if not. I paid $130 for 2 cats, one spayed and one neutered and that included first round of vaccines and flea treatment. Local vet wanted $800 for the 2 cats. http://www.operationpets.org/

I have a 92lb charcoal lab. She needs to lose weight, but she tore her acl ligament. Sheridan animal hospital estimate is over $5000. Any suggestions?
Zoey G. replied:
Sand Dancer Canine Swim Therapy is located in Orchard Park and might be able to help.
Bridgette P. replied:
Dr Alber at All Creatures repaired my Rocky’s ACL 6 years ago and it’s been great!!! Recommend!!!!
Candace S. replied:
Call Seneca Animal Hospital, Dr Fijas. He’s really good especially with big dogs like Labs. He operated on our Lab. She tore her ligament. He came highly recommended by another Vet. The Orchard Park vet was very expensive! More expensive is not always the best.

I would recommend a better diet for weight loss. Using freeze dried raw or a raw diet which is less carbs and leaner proteins the better. Dogfoodadvisor.com and rank your current food and research new. I love sojos freeze dried raw, but also like darwins frozen delivery, and Stella & Chewys brand foods. If insistent on using kibble, use one ranked 4 or 5 star only to remove junk.

Randolph Vet ...Top notch clinic that does not do any unnecessary procedures… You won’t find a more honest veterinarian anywhere else
Lisa D. replied:
I agree with Randolph vet. The 2 Dr Inkley's are great. It's worth the drive
Kate B. replied:
You have all been so helpful. I appreciate all the advice. I'll continue to decide which vet to go to. She did see Dr Van ee. He uses metal plates and screws. I've heard most the dogs have very good results. She can't have surgery until she gets down to at least 80 lbs. She is the alpha, and would hog the food. Now we're feeding all of them separately. It appears she has already lost a little. Hopefully, we can help her to lose the extra weight and get the surgery scheduled. In the meantime, I am going to call some of the suggested vets, and hope to make the right decision. Thank you all so much

Yes, I have a 95 pound chocolate lab that blew her ACL out and took her to Dr, Bannister at the Bennington Dog clinic. she has done great. $2,400 was the cost 585-591-1897. Check him out. PS: he also has two labs, a white and black. He had three but one recently died. I trust this man.
Who has a great veterinarian that is not gonna mortgage my house to look at my dogs eye condition? anyone?
Michelle C. replied:
OP Vet is the best around but expensive. Look into getting a credit card called Care Credit for vet bills (also can use on your medical, eye and dental bills). They give you an interest free payment plan with all purchases no matter how big or small. I use it every time I go to the vet without worrying how much it will be as it doesn't break the budget when you have 6 months or more to pay for it interest free. Look into it. I believe it's www.carecredit.com it's been a life saver many many times!!

I like using Bragg's apple cider vinegar in my dogs' drinking water (I add about 1 tbs to water year round) and empty cranberry extract capsules into their food. http://www.whole-dog-journal.com/issues/2_6/features/5220-1.html
Beth G. replied:
My little Addison's dog used to have UTI constantly and I started her on a cranberry supplement called Cranberry Relief from NatureVet....works like a charm and haven't had any issues since. I put the powder in yogurt or mix in her food every few days and like I said, she hasn't had any infections.

The Orchard Park vet hospital will arrange Care Credit payment plans if you call beforehand. I've never used it myself so I can't speak to the ease of use, but it can't hurt to call!
