HELP- I have an older dog that isn't wanting to eat and his gums are WHITE... Our usual vet told us he needed to be seen today, but they were completely booked... Anyone...
Nova K. replied:
Akron veterinary and emergency center in Copley is the cheapest I know to stabilize your dog til you can see your own vet. Not sure if Primary Pet Care will be open today.
Amber G. replied:
What city? We go to Wyoga Lake Vet in Stow/Cuyahoga Falls area, which is reasonably priced, very friendly, and always grants us a same day appointment when I call with an emergent situation. They are also extremely helpful over the phone; I've called them with questions about cat food recalls, etc and they are always so kind. 263 E Steels Corners Rd, Stow, OH 44224 (330) 928-7063.
Christina H. replied:
Akron Peninsula vet office in the valley 330-928-1826. They are usually very good about emergency situations and have 3 vets. Love them there
Veronica M. replied:
I usually go to Brimfield Vet because they are all walk ins, no appointments. Im not sure how they deal with emergency situations though. And they have strange hours.
Mindy T. replied:
Wyoga Lake is the best! !!
Linda S. replied:
If his gums are white that is a sign of being sick and he needs a full vet clinic not Pet Guard or Primary Pet Care

How can your vet not see you when you have an emergency? Sigler's is famous for that. Horrible. VCA is open 896-4044. White gums are a sign of dehydration. Hope he/she can be seen ASAP\

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Wyoga Lake Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Wendi. We finally switched to her a few years ago. Almost everyone I know goes there and loves her!
Maura M. replied:
Casandra Sohn.. The reason I never went to siglers is because they had a bad reputation. It may have changed but after many friends having bad experiences there, I never went.
Sharon M. replied:

Randi L. replied:
Kevin, take him to Pet Guard on State Road. Cheap! I take all my dogs there.
Leah B. replied:
We took our cats to Cuyahoga Falls Vet Clinic when we lived in Stow. Reasonable prices and excellent care! They do it all. It's on State Rd near-ish to Family Video.
Kevin H. replied:
Paul Walton the reason I chose the cat is A: he came to me and B: I wouldn't mind a dog but I don't have time for their high maintenance. I couldn't care for one properly with my work schedule. I like the idea of a self sufficient pet, aka litter box.
Debbie W. replied:
Yahoo! I've used Pet Guards in the Falls 330.922.4885 and Primary Pet Care in Stow 330.968.6570. He's so beautiful!!! So glad you took him in ;-)

I've heard good things about Uniontown Vet too but I haven't been there. I have also heard good things about http://www.vetwellnesscenter.com/ in North Canton but that would be quite a hike for you. It is supposedly inexpensive though.

Katie M. replied:
We used the Bed and Biscuit at Memorial Animal Hospital in Kent. They were amazing with my mom's senior dogs who had never been boarded before. Very clean facility and the vet will come down and check them out if any need arises. The staff was great and you can call to check in. They have private suites that are a bit more peaceful but they also cost a bit more. My mom's dogs did fine in the standard kennels.
