Moving to ABQ -- looking for daycare and school age care Hello! It looks like I will be relocating to ABQ soon, and I am not sure how to find good daycare or summer...

I'm not sure what the ages are, but my daughter is going to YMCA day camp this summer. EDIT: http://ymcacnm.org I had the URL wrong. They also offer before and after school care, but will only drop off / pick up from certain schools. I'd also recommend Southwest Child Care. They have several locations, and I've been really happy with the one mine goes to.

Good luck, and be prepared to pay for it. My mom lives with me to provide the bulk of my childcare &this is cheaper.

I went [here](http://www.children-center.com/) for Kindergarten and daycare 35(ish) years ago, but that's probably a poor recommendation. It does say something that they've been there for 4 decades, though.

I recommend Children's Choice.

Lkely won't help youa now as it might be too late to enroll you kids but in our experience one of the best programs is Blast Camp at Sports and Wellness, but like La Luz it's pricey. Don't think they take infants though. The YMCA camp was ok but like most of the Y's stuff it felt highly disorganized and lacked good direction. I've been at the Horn Family Y for years participatng in martial arts classes and such and they're a bear to work with. Their summer camp felt the same way and our oldest had problems with getting bullied but the kids they have running the camp did nothing to help him. And frankly we found Southwest Child Care to be a truly mortifying place. Nothing they did was acceptable to us when we were looking for care for our first little guy.

Check out Academy Montessori, my wife worked there, and she turned out all right.

If you can wait, which it doesn't seem like you can, La Luz is currently going through their renewal process with all parents and may have openings sometime in the next few months. It took us until about August after we got on the waiting list, ~May of last year. We love the daycare and are really satisfied, albeit a bit expensive, but I think it's worth it.
