There are low income apartments on broadway beneath i40 that are pretty nice and also the green apartments on Lomas/1 st I think it is? They have a community garden and even if those two are full they may be able to refer your friend to other spots. Edit: i40 not 25

We just stayed at Motel 6, they have coffee for breakfast but they are next door to Golden corral! 13 miles from White Sands National Monument. Probably the best value is Days Inn for a little more upscale
