Refusing to serve someone who is already intoxicated can quickly escalate into violence. I have been to more alcohol related incidents than I care to remember and many where glasses or bottles have been used, just because of such a thing. I have also witnessed people here sitting out in the main part of the garden with cases of beer stacked up and just spending all day getting drunk. Those cases obviously came from the supermarket anyway. Yes, come on holiday and have fun but these are also some peoples homes and there just isn't enough respect shown for that.

Fuente Del Hilo do a lovely menu del dia if you fancy a change from La Mariposa that also lovely (need to book this time of year). They feed the wild boars in the afternoon in Sierra Espuna mountains. Head out of Alhama heading for mountains, instead of going up to Mariposa, folk to the left brown tourist Sierrra Espuna sign.

Sorry Paula Wakefield I was teasing - The Castle Restuarant is in Perin go thru Isla Plana Do NOT take the turn off for La Azohia head towards the mountains and Cartagena after a couple of KMS the road forks Right ti Cartagena or Left to Perin take the left and the restuarant is about 500 m on the right down a long drive - its an experience the 6 x 6 deal is lunch times mid week but I have been on a sunday as well for the lunch and that was superb as well - enjoy !
