I a VERY picky about my kids pedi. I have been using Dr. Chopra for awhile now. Highly recommend him! Can ALWAYS get a sick visit same day. Does not rush into/out of appt..takes time to answer questions you have. Can reach Dr if needed after hours [we have his cell #]. All my kids and my grandkids go to his office for pedi care. 944-8784 is his # . As for dental.... Dr. Beter is WONDERFUL with kids. I would stay away from Dr Lipps on 13 th street though. That office said my youngest had nothing wrong with his teeth..switched to Dr Beter and my son had major dental work needed/done. We knew he needed work done when the one on 13 th st said nothing needed. Dr Beter # is 942-9111

My child hoes to Dr Patel in Tyrone it's small he knows us just to see us and it's always him I never wanna go when there's more then one dr. Her eye dr is dr betchel. In Altoona everyone there is nice and dentist is dr kistner and he's terrific he's located on Tyrone and Altoona As for ur area drs is recommend nason pediatrics that's where I'd go if I lived close to it even though it's more then 1 dr all the drs have treated my dtr and I loved them all

My brother still goes to a pediatrician and he goes to Dr. Galbraith at Blair Medical... he has an awesome track record for diagnoses that are often overseen.

Dr Bihary in Tyrone is a fantastic dentist.. adults and kids. my kid has no idea she's had shots in her mouth and didn't know he pulled a tooth til it was out. i've been thru most area dentists but found one to stay with.

Jim Burke, very good surgeon.

Dr. Burke is good enough to know when you need even more specialized care. I saw him and was then referred to Dr. Okonkwo at Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Highly pleased with the results of surgery.

Burke did his residency under Dr. Jonthan Enigh in Pittsburgh. Dr.Enigh operated on my husband's brain tumor. Dr. Burke sent us there because his tumor was on the speech area. Dr. Enigh does the surgery with the patient awake so he can make sure as they remove the tumor, the patient can continue to speak. He was amazing.

My husband has a brain tumor, and Dr. Bourke referred him to Dr. Enigh, however Dr. Bourke was a senior resident and Dr. Enigh was a junior resident under him.They look enough alike to be related.

Dr. Burke the surgeon did not leave...... Family doctor Dr. Burk left.

I had an 8 vertebrae fusion done about six months ago. Dr. Burke was my surgeon, I love him. Dr. Osgood was good in his day and his experience is legend, but he has a form of Parkinsons now and no longer operates.

Dr. Maserati did my back surgery about 8 weeeks ago. He did a great job!

I would not let anybody but Dr. Burke Operate on me. I had a herniated disc in my neck and Dr. Osgood came to me in hospital and said he would operate on me, as soon as he walked out I called for my nurse and said you get me Dr. Burke, Osgood is not touching me. Dr. Burke learned a lot from Osgood but Osgood has to be 70 or more years old.

Exactly Brenda J Morris!! I think Burke received his experience with Dr. Maroon at Pittsburgh...NOT OSGOOD!! Osgood did my back in 1983 and I would never allow him to touch me or my family ever again!!

Dr. Burke.. the other guy in with him is Dr. Mazerati & hes terrific..He did my 1 st back suregry & unfortunetly I have another one happening soon & hes doing it also..Great doctor terrific bedside manner..

Actually Altoona has the best cardiologists in the country from what I have been told. So many of these doctors could do the same thing. My hubby goes to Dr. Jabbour and has had great results.

I also go to Dr. Jabbour and find him to be very knowledgeable

Thank you all.I went to Dr.J he told me that I had a 50% blockage and never gave me an appointment to come back.My GP a year later sent me back up and Dr.B was shocked that Dr. J did that.So Dr B.did the test and said that there were no blockage.I hear that another doctor in town is getting alot of Dr.J's patients.Thanks again for all the names of other doctors.

Due to that very fact Carole,am taking my wife to Cleveland Clinic for open heart in late Jan. She was born with only two valves as it is and one is failing so want her to have the best of care.

My mom has been with Dr Jay since first being diagnosed with heart disease at 32 years old. In fact he was the fist doctor who believed she wasn't 'to young' to have the disease and he saved her life.

When I worked in Altoona as a cardiac nurse.... Dr. Jay and Dr Brandt were fabulous. My dad goes to Dr Brandt and has for years. He was a wonderful person as well as doctor. Dr Jay is a very good person as well. Both car about their patients.

No disrepect to those Dr's mentioned, however, my vote goes to Dr Larkin in whom I have much repect for as my Cardiologist. Whatever people may say regarding Altoona we are blessed with a number of great Physicians and Specialists.

I live in Altoona so Greys Woods is too far for me. I like being able to get to the Dr's office is 5 minutes. I love Station Medical Center because they have lab and Xray right there too.

Dr. Schlecter...if you want a dr that will come see you in the hospital. He is in with Bartkowiak and Maniglia... They cover for each other at the hospital. Some doctors see you in their office nd have hospitalists see you if you get admitted. Dr. Hess geocaches. My hobby.
