Nothing to worry. Your GP is just the typical dutch GP. An asshole. Especially when they see you are not dutch and they think their health care system got screwed because of foreigners hypocondriac behaviour. Try to contact these guys. My wife has good experience with them. http://www.expatmc.net/

Dr Feenstra-Kisch in Amstelveen is great. Not sure about the referral thing but she always deals with whatever we present to her personally (i.e. Not from the GP) although think an initial referral letter was needed for insurance purposes. Hi Eleonore! Here in Holland you always need to go to your GP and he or she will give you a 'verwijzing' for a specialist. You can not go to a dermatologist directly. My GP's work a lot with expats too! Good luck! https://hapk.nl
