So to sign the work off it entails us pretty much doing a new install on it to confirm every bit of the install is up to correct standards, meaning you would be looking at installation Labour cost and not just a service or safety landlords inspection certification. I used Parkes Browne in the past (now called DB) who were very good. However it's not usually the solicitor who holds things up, the process of buying and selling, searches, surveys, land registry and chains that can hold things up. It's quicker if you have a mortgage in place and there is no onward chain, 2 months is pretty good, when I bought in the past with no chain the process took about 6 weeks.
