Many just have wait lists, Gregory T Mellon in McKinleyville is where I go and I like it. Gordon Lewis in Eureka (had some work done there too).. also the Medi Cal office Burre Dental Center is not the worst place ever. If you just need a cleaning try College of the Redwoods dental hygiene program.

our insurance didn't cover crescent city dentists, so we went to arcata. found Trisha Barsanti (shares an office with her father-in-law, Dr. Ron Barsanti, whose name is sometimes listed on directories instead of hers: (707) 822-0381. she made us feel comfortable by explaining in great detail everything she was about to do, so i also learned something! very gentle, patient, takes the time.

Dr. Mellon in McKinleyville but if you’re in pain you just need to see anyone who will let you in because an abscess is way worse. Oh! Gordon Lewis in Eureka is another option. I’ve had work done by both these guys. Clove essential oil on the tooth is a life saver for pain, also salt water gargling. Good luck!

If you have pain right now, you probably need a root canal, and your pain could worsen quickly. I remember nearly fainting from pain while i was in Eureka Target trying to find a bottle of aspirin and topical toothache gel. I also bought some cloves to chew on. I assume that many dentists are booked way out right now for new patients, but if you play the pain card they can sometimes make slots for an emergency.
