We recently took in a 10 month old lab mix. She is a sweet sweet girl but has absolutely NO manners! Looking for training at a reasonable cost.

I cannot recommend Samira with Yappy Hours enough. She will come to your home, train your furry family member, ensure the humans of the house are educated as well, and she will love your pet like her own. She truly has a dog whisperer gift. She also has her own mobile grooming, so outside of a vet visit, you don’t have to leave your home! Our entire neighborhood uses her. (682) 561-0448yappyhourstx@gmail.com

I used Alpha 9 and he was great. It was around $1200 though but well worth it. I searched a lot and most were closer to $2000. We did board and train for 4 weeks followed up with in house training.

Tess Windhauser was doing great work with my reactive dog but she works with all dogs. She is very nice and has great personality and you can tell she has a unique connection with animals. She was the only trainer who didn’t turn away my anxious dog and she will come to your residence. She was only $50 a session, you can pay by session, lump sum, monthly, etc. and she also educates you on how to work with your dog. I can’t recommend her enough. Her website is dogownertrainingwithtess.com Only reason I had to stop is we are moving soon and I went back to work but I plan on reaching out when life settles down again.

We saw two dogs in training at a Home Depot a few weeks ago with the company ”K9 Off Leash Training” - it was amazing how tuned in to their handlers both dogs were, despite all the distractions in the store. We’ve had German Shepherds through the years and if we get another one, we would look into this company. It was very impressive to see

We took our fearful rescue dog to The Pet Republic in North Cambridge. Small classes (3-6 dogs) and wonderful instructors. We did Basic Manners, Advanced Manners, and Agility Training. The training is clicker-based/positive reinforcement. What also saved our sanity is a book by animal behaviorist/veterinarian, the late Dr. Sophia Yin: "Perfect Puppy in 7 Days." The method works with dogs of any age and you can start on day 1 when your dog comes home. And you can purchase it instantly online as an e-book. Dr Yin's other book, "How to Behave So Your Dog Behaves," is an excellent and simple introduction to how dogs learn, what motivates them, etc. As for walkers, I've used Cambridge Critter Sitter for many, many years and love them.
