Lalicata is the only one of the local vendors that offers leaf mulch (great for your soil!) Mahoney's does carry a variety of Coast of Maine enriching mulches. http://www.lalicatalandscape.com/mulch.php
Any good garden nurseries? Hello! I got into plants lately and I'm looking for nurseries I can check out. I've been going to places like Home Depot, Lowes, even Target.....

I've been to just about every garden center within 20 miles of Plano and Covington's is easily the best one, nobody else is even close imo. The only issue is that it is way out in Rowlett, but their selection in unparalleled in the DFW area and the store is huge, several times bigger than any other garden center mentioned on this thread.
Really great service, well organized, helpful and knowledgeable employees. Their pricing is fair, certainly not cheap but not over priced either. They also have a 1/2 price area for damaged or clearance plants. If you spend $300 they add you to their club program and you get 10% off every purchase (including the first $300 purchase) for the next 2 years.
Being way out in Rowlett it really helps that they post their inventory on their website (along with their prices) so you can see what they have in stock. That is only for their trees and shrubs though, for annuals and herbaceous perennials they don't show their prices online. I only drive out there for the shrubs though as they usually have a lot of plants in stock that are hard to find elsewhere in the DFW area.
Also just as some friendly advice, anyone new to gardening in the area should ask someone (or at minimum check google to make sure the plant doesn't require acidic soil) before buying a plant. Almost every nursery around here sells azaleas, camellias, gardenia, blueberries, and many other plants that don't grow well in most of the DFW area without making significant modifications to your soil.
It is a lot easier to have a nice looking garden by buying plants that like to grow in this area rather than having to constantly fight a battle to keep plants healthy in an area where they wouldn't naturally grow.

Ok knowledgeable people of Arlington. My lawn mower needs some repairs. Any suggestions of local businesses/individusls that can make it work again.
