Does anyone have recommendations for a moving company that would be good to handle a move within Fairlington? (We’re just going a few blocks). Thanks!

When I moved into Fairlington in September I was in a similar situation being less than 2 miles away. I was looking for the absolute cheapest option out there and found Choice Movers to be the best deal. They got the job done well and were easy to work with.I'm trying to remember, and want to say they cost around ~$75/hour all in for 2 guys and a truck. The whole job cost just under $500 I think for around 5 hours work. Happy to look back at our docs if you want better details just PM me. http://choicemoversllc.com/

I second GENTLE GIANT. I did a local move with GENTLE GIANT and they were fast and awesome. You can even purchase paper and used boxes at a discount from them, and they will drop off for free. Or they can pack you out and move you, too. Some moving companies never called me back, including 2 Marines and a Truck. GENTLE GIANT gave me the best estimate and when they came in under that, refunded money to me. https://www.gentlegiant.com

I did research last month on Angie’s List and Yelp when we were looking for movers for my mom’s small condo in Annandale. These are the three companies I liked. They all have good reviews and are “Angie’s List Certified” for price, quality, responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism. In January NOVA Moving Express and G&J Moving Storage had coupons for users who find them through Angie’s List – I don’t know if the coupons are still there for February or March. I focused my research on companies for a small move; it’s possible that other companies may be better for a larger move. Note: there is no longer an annual fee to search Angie’s List or to use the company coupons on the site. NOVA Moving Express – 855-707-8787 G&J Moving Storage – 844-866-8387 My Truck Buddy – 571-357-3505 – they focus on moving small apartments Angie’s List link: https://member.angieslist.com/search/search?query=Moving¶ms%5Bref%5D=HeaderSearch¶ms%5Bquery%5D=moving&category=98#cpn=1&distance=10&page=1

I highly recommend Dwain Aliff of Dwain Aliff the Mover -- he has moved various items / full homes for me, my mom, my mom's office, my dad, and my brother and we have all been very pleased with his prices and his work. Not a fancy outfit, but good, solid work ethic. You can reach Dwain at (602) 680-8295.

Hi - you can save money if you pack yourself out and just have professional movers pick up, move and deliver your items. I did a move with GENTLE GIANT (703-372-2589). I only moved about 2 miles, but they do longer moves. They are efficient, fast and fairly priced. You can also buy paper and used boxes from them at a discount to pack yourself, and they will drop the supplies off for free. They can give you an estimate if you call. They do full moves, but packing yourself out will save money. They will also wrap your furniture to protect it for the move. https://www.gentlegiant.com
Hello neighbors, can you please send me recommendations for affordable local movers? Thanks

I'm with Chrissy Markel Smith. Gentle Giant is awesome. You can purchase supplies from them for free drop off. I bought gently used boxes at a discount, packed myself, and they picked up my boxes and furniture for my move. I saved a ton of money. They also do full pack outs and moves. https://www.gentlegiant.com
