Well outside of your area (Sterling) but for others looking I only went once so far but Dr. Patelmosaicdentalva.com was the most gentle dentist I've had and I've had a dozen or so and she did a good job re-adhering my dental implant, office staff was pleasant and sharp as well.

Serdar Ozturk (http://www.arlingtonfamilysmiles.com/) near Courthouse in Arlington has been great for me.

I've been going to Dental Care of Springfield on Backlick Rd. next to the Chick Fil A. I'll be honest, I just picked them because they were physically closest to my house. Dr. Gejji is pretty good though. I've never had any work done but cleanings, but my wife and older kid have had fillings, they were done quickly and with no problems.

I go to Dr. Roca in Arlington. Both him and his son work there and they do great work. Plus, if you are having hardships, they work with you in payment. I heard some people actually paid in trade.

Avoid Dr. Bryan Wood in Alexandria. He missed a HUGE cavity that I pointed out, totally dismissed it. Went to another place for a 2 nd opinion and the Dentist there was in shock that he didn't do anything to it.

I use [Green Dental](http://greendentalalexandria.com/) in Old Town Alexandria. The dentist is friendly and very gentle with your teeth. I've had both cleanings and cavity fillings there. Also they have massage chairs and TVs on the ceiling so you can watch while you have work done:)

Dr. Hye Park@Green Dental in Alexandria (next to King St Metro) gets my vote. I get positively panicked in a dental chair and she's always been able to get me to relax. Office staff is good too- they fought an insurance denial for me that saved me ~$2000.

Dr Wartman in Burke is my guy. http://dentalassociatesnova.com/dental-offices/burke-dentists/our-team/michael-wortman-dds/ It's not too far from Annandale if that location was ok for you.

My dad's been going to [Dr. Leo Rosenthal](http://www.leojrosenthaldds.com/) for *forty goddamn years*. Refuses to switch until the guy retires. They're good people.

come from a long line of bad teeth...been to dozens of dentists over the years. hands down, the best: http://www.mcleandentalcenter.com/home.html plus, one of your doctors is Dr. Who (well, it's Hu, but sounds the same so it's still cool). Dr. Yang has tiny hands, which sounds weird, but when they're in your mouth, it's a good thing. between the 2 docs, they do everything - general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontist, whatever a gum dr. is called and another specialty. you don't get referred out to someone else, they do everything in their office. and if it hurts, they do it on the spot. no "come back next week" or "make an appt w/someone else tomorrow". both docs will work on you at the same time, so it takes 1/2 the time. their front office staff is great too, and they're awesome at working w/insurance and keeping your costs down.

Amanda Yihttp://www.dryidmd.com/434.html - absolutely fantastic service, in fairfax. Otherwise Dr. Gruberghttp://www.drgruberg.com/ also in fairfax - was my family dentist for years (and mine until he wasn't in-network in my insurance). Dr. Gruberg sent me a card when they found out my father passed away. Good people.

Tyson's Dentistry http://www.tysonsdentistry.com awesome! Aside from being a great doctor and having a great staff I was blown away when I got my first cavity filled there. I was in the chair for 5 minutes as he was poking around waiting for him to administer the shot for Novocain and get started so I asked "Will this shot location make my tongue numb?" and he was like "What do you mean, I'm almost done, we used a laser, no need for drill or Novocain" Blown away, 5 minutes for a cavity filling, no pain no numbness.
