Is it possible to take your children to a child's psychologist before an inevitable traumatic event to help...
Anon I do not know what you are wanting to assist your children with, but I would consult with your GP first as they will be able to advise you as to who would be the best person. I refer a lot of people to Ann at Barnados Counselling in Broadbeach. She has years and years of experience. I refer a lot of families that I counsel to her. All the best.

Hypnotherapy for children will also help the child keep a positive mindset before the traumatic event ... it will help creating an understanding and calmness... my website is www.beyondyourthoughts.com if you would like to have a read about it!

Also remember that you are looking at things from an adults perspective. Sometimes kids are more accepting of "traumatic" events than adults are as they see them in very simplistic terms. Kerry Marsh from Solutions for Life is a great child psychologist but speak to your GP first as you may not necessarily need to take the next step.
