it might be far but it is worth calling and looking into, Home Vet in Belford would eliminate as many costs as possible for me when I explained I was on a budget, they are super nice, smaller facility and always willing to help! (732) 787-0055

Yes Michael Howell

My sister uses this vet, says they are reasonable and do a great job, she is on a pretty tight budget as well- Dr Kass in wall is the best vet, very reasonable, but not free. He works out of All Paws Vet Clinic. 1732 Highway 71 Wall 732-449-8585.

I'm so sorry, Christine. Unfortunately this would be considered a pre-existing condition for an insurance company. In some cases, Technicians or Doctors will assume financial responsibility for a pet in return for adopting her--but you can't entirely trust that will happen. Again, applying to Care Credit is the best thing you can do. Or asking family/friends for some help. What are her symptoms now? Did you go to the vet yesterday? I wouldn't recommend any Banfield vets (they're the black sheep of the veterinary world and practice terrible medicine) unless it is absolutely a last resort.
Michael H. replied:
I would apply for Care Credit. Most veterinary practices (if not all) do not accept payment plans by choice. Instead, you kinda hafta screw them over and say you aren't going to pay after everything is completed (which happens to us often). RBVH is going to be the most expensive route you can take--same with any other emergency hospital. Your best bet is to establish a relationship with a primary vet (the vet you've seen before) and ask if you can pay on a plan (will likely not be happy). Shitty people have ruined the concept of paying us over time, unfortunately. Consider a pet insurance company, as well. They can really save you money, especially with emergencies. There are some really good ones out there (if you'd like I can recommend one).
We've always gone to Jackson vet clinic. They were always very nice there... Of course, any type of surgery on a pet is going to cost you... I would look into programs that do discounted vet services based on income, like vet clinics... I know there are some here.

Red Bank Animal Hospital in Tinton Falls deals with these kind of cases all the time, but they get expensive quick. Best bet with any of the emergency places is to let them know what you can afford right off the bat, and ask that they go over new charges with you and ask for approval as they come up.
