Hey Brandon! Looks like you've been making moves! I actually am in private practice now, and am actively taking referrals. My website is www.jordangrob.com if you want to pass my information along to potential clients. I will definitely send folks in need of more care your way as well! Hope all is well with you :)
Guy M. replied:
Brandon, my name is Guy Morganstein. I am a licensed professional counselor in Asheville, and I have worked for years with people having substance abuse problems. I have been in the counseling field for 30 years, facilitated DWI groups for several years, and also work and substance abuse IOP groups for teenagers in the past. From 1989 to 1999 I lived in Nashville Tennessee, working in the Family Preservation program with teenager at risk for being removed from the house either due to their own delinquency or criminality or abuse or neglect from the parents. We referred people to Cumberland Heights at times. I have worked in schools and as long community mental health centers. l have been in private practice for seven years. Often clients come in for one problem, but it turns out that substance abuse is either an additional problem or a primary problem. You can look at my webpage at guymorganstein .com or on the psychology today or good therapy.org find a therapist link for more information. I can be reached at 828-337-7549. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to be of assistance to you in being a potential referral source. Guy Morganstein LPC

I went through MAHEC and signed up for their tele med program about two years ago.
Some of the benefits I’ve noticed are:
I’m way more comfortable being in the environment of my choosing verses an office.
I have a lot more access to my dr and have the ability to have much more frequent visits when necessary. When I was going to physical visits I was lucky to get monthly visits. I can have biweekly, weekly, every 3 weeks whatever this way.
My therapist seems more comfortable and never distracted by a ringing phone or outside noises.
If I have a mental emergency there is an option to speak to a licensed therapist within minutes! It may not be my normal one, but still! It’s 24/7/365 too!
Before Covid I could still travel and not have to rearrange my appointments. I’ve had sessions on the beach, in a park, at a car show, and even just a parking lot.
*A few other notes they do accept most insurances and they can prescribe medications if necessary. They do like to have you see separate people - one for talk therapy and one for medication, but the two work together.
The only downside is that the drs are often in other towns which could mean if you need paperwork signed you would have to fax/mail/email etc.

Stacey Curnow! Been to therapists for 10 years, and she’s the only one who has gotten shit done in less than four months. Highly recommend her.
