Hi Erin... The garage right there in 5 Points, Butler's Automotive is awesome. Travis, the owner/mechanic, is by far the best and most fare mechanic I've ever met. He saved me thousands over my 10 or so years in Athens. I can't speak highly enough of him.
Can you recommend a reliable mechanic that works on Volvos? Long story short, my Volvo has been misfiring like a crazy for some time now, it comes and goes while...
blirkstch replied:
One of my professors drove a Volvo, and when I asked him about mechanics he said he used Butler's Automotive on Lumpkin, so that might be worth a look.

Five Star Automative on Macon Hwy. near S.Lumpkin. A family run business, these guys are ethical as well as affordable. They have saved me hundreds of dollars in repairs to my wife's car and my truck. They work on Volvo's as well!

Since I moved here a few years ago I've been taking my Volvo to import Service Center on Broad St just in front of Target. They're ok I guess but I'm not quite ready to give them a glowing endorsement. The best Volvo place ever is in Gainesville, FL where we moved from. I sometimes wait to service my car until we're down there just so I can have them do it. I know that doesn't help you though...

What kind of Volvo? If you did the plugs yourself double check the gap, especially if you have a turbo model. Oh and /r/mechanicadvice for any future problems.

Boo. Sorry to hear that. Glad you will be ok. I had that happen in Feb but got mine fixed in Alpharetta. Sorry. You might check with Beth Massey. I think she knew of one.
Diversified Automotive on Lexington! They fixed my car and even changed my headlight for free (which apparently requires a mechanic) and they're approved by AAA so you can get a discount through that I think.
