Atlanta friends: I need gym and cross fit recommendations. Also want a grown up, kickass trainer. Someone who understands 50+ muscle gain/maintainence.

Check out Urban Body Studio off Ponce De Leon. It used to be own by a woman that was really great. Not sure if she sold it.
Helene W. replied:
Well, this won't help you, Jodie....although if you had stayed here.... I just met with a great, smart, inspiring trainer, Sarah, at 24 Hour Fitness on Market in SF.....for that EXTRA youthful boost to my REWIRING (not retiring!) program.

If you would ever consider a boot camp to get you started, I would highly recommend Operation Boot Camp. Amazing people, amazing results! I know and love my CP people but there are groups in GP too. www.operationbootcamp.com

Unfortunately no, but since Atlanta is huge what section are you in? (might help others give you closer suggestions).

I go to GT and attend the [Fitness Battalion Crossfit](http://www.fitnessbattalion.com/) on the corner of Northside and 10 th street (it's part of the Tenth Side apartment complex). Owner is super nice, everyone is super cool. It's right next to GT campus, probably 5-6 minutes away from North Avenue

Crossfit breaking boundaries In Roswell checking in. We focus more on endurance and cardio more than strength. 40 minute wods ftw.
samcbar replied:
People look for many different things in a Crossfit Gym. Many offer one or more free workouts. Go to more than one gym to see what they are about. Call ahead and ask to speak to a trainer and do a free workout. Learn about the gym, ask the following questions, in addition to ones you may have: Do you have special non-CF classes (Oly, Strength, gymnastics)? Do you have a focus (mountain sports, endurance)? If you do a specific sport ask how their classes will help you in your sport/activity, if that is what they are looking for. Most gyms have a blog. Look through it and ask any relevant questions when you make a visit.

Thank you so much for calling it a gym and not a "box". That is all I have to say.

Moving to Buckhead. Recommendations for BJJ/MMA gyms? Hello all! I'm moving to the Buckhead area and I would like to know if there are any good gyms that specialize in...
hooahguy replied:
Big fan of American Top Team Atlanta. Not that far from Buckhead and the instructors are top notch. A bit pricey though at almost $100/m but the guys there are truly great.
