Thank you Dennis Edwards. You nailed it! OK, I keep track of prices at restaurants a lot. It is what I do part of the time. I am sorry so many people are not up to speed these days. The restaurant industry has been put under tremendous price pressure for years. Imagine running a business where your costs go up, but the economy is so bad that you have trouble raising prices. $5 is pretty much the going rate for beer these days; just check around. $12 for a burger and fries is common at many restaurants that are not fast food. I was at IHOP the other day and it was $10. Heck, MacDonalds is pushing $7 for a basic combo and Carl's is running $8 and up. So, if you had a burger at MacD with a Coke, you are looking at $15 for two. I can assure you, our Hotel has a much higher overhead than MacDonald's. I have spoken to restaurant owners that are selling their food at just above cost to keep customers from complaining and trying desperately to make up for it in their bar. If you want to blame someone, blame the Fed. The government took your money and forgot to tell you about it. Trust me, lots of restaurants go out of business all the time and I bet people would think their prices are way too high. By the way, Zack Jack Bistro is gone and they were a damn good restaurant. Ooops!!!
