Thoroughly recommend Alpers Dental - A1 Awesome, they don't take teeth out either if there is overcrowding they realign your gums first then the braces go on... my top teeth were really misaligned, buck teeth, and crowded, I wore a plate to move my gums/jaw, which made gaps andI only needed braces for 9 months!!! John Burford at Epsom Dental, free consultations for children, less evasive, and about a third the price. Definitely worth getting a quote.

Yes we've just been down that road a month ago. Yes! John Burford at Epsom Dental is AMAZING. Plate being fitted next week, lovely staff and very accommodating. Thoroughly recommend and they have interest free payments.

Turner Lim. I have braces and they do a fabulous job! They are amazing! Donna and Fiona own it and majority of their customers are kids from high school. I couldn't recommend a better place that's local smile emoticon

Donna Lim - they are really good and concious of the price as we. My son had gone to Dental Care West and I thought that they were proper orthadontist and my son was fitted with space maintainers. Found out later and after $1000 that Dental care west a re only trained in some orthadontic but not fully qualified and were told to go to a proper qualified orthadontist. He didnt need space maintainers and as a result there are teath at the front that have no space. My advice - see a proper orthadontist not a dentist who can do some and what to keep taking teeath out.

His work is fantastic! I've never heard anyone complain about his work

James Prestorious, sunset Ave is wonderful. I had my braces done over 10 yrs ago and they still look great. He was always very good with me even when i was nervous or sore.

Bit of an oxymoron given the time your kids usually need the work done isn't a very financial time of in family life ... however most of them let you pay it off and it's an investment. Good on you Rachel it's important. My kids went to Karen Brooke in Rothesay Bay.

Sunnynook dentist....I got quite a few quotes for my daughter and this is was the best price and my daughter liked him. Everything is included in the price so no surprises. And he is very flexible with paying it off.

Tusk Dental in Mairangi Bay, we got mitchells braces done there and he was cheaper than others and really really good. We paid a deposit and paid off it monthly. Awesome results in the end.

That's a good price...we paid that price over 16 yrs ago for oldest daughter. Do not go to MCINTOSH along Lincoln Rd...he is not a registered Orthodontist he a Orthodontic which is work on teeth for cosmetic reasons, but he does not inform you of that. Got sacked in for youngest daughter, thousands later, we discover he took wrong teeth out to start with & job was a total mess. The guy is a walker & only cares about $. Max & Beresford are the best. Good luck.

My daughter is seeing Jim Pretorius on Sunset Rd, Mairangi Bay. He has been in the industry a long time. Doesn't just slap braces on your child, he looks at the best options, plates to align jawbones properly etc. very happy with him so far. Will end up near $10 k but do you want a cheap job or a good job?

Depending on where you want to travel to, I go to Bays Dental in Forrest Hill and it cost me $7200 all inclusive (extractions, appointments, plate, follow ups ect) and they're all ridiculously nice there!

Turner & Lim in New Lynn. Fabulous clinic and great with kids. Indicated $8-9 k which includes all the visits/checks.

Tony Bunyan in Takapuna is fantastic. Won’t do work unless it’s absolutely necessary so no unnecessary costs!

I shopped around for prices. Coast Dental at the top of Browns Bay. Friendly dentist and my daughters teeth are straightening up great $3000 for top teeth.

We used Takapuna Orthodontic Group - Mark Pinkerton was fantastic They gave a fixed price and we could pay it off over the treatment

Tusk Dental in Mairangi Bay is good, I had to have a lot of work done on my teeth before I even got braces including having two teeth pulled, so 8 months pre braces then had braces for around 3 years, all in all it costed $7,000

Jim Pretorius in Sunset Rd. Been doing it for years, older chap. Really great with the kids. My daughter is nearly 11 and has braces and now blocks/plates to help bring lower jaw forward. Reasonably priced and able to pay off over 2 years. My daughters treatment will be about $10,000 total but that includes top and bottom braces as well as top and bottom blocks to move jaw, and then retainers at the end. Her teeth are moving fast so braces may come off sooner meaning cost goes down. If you need other work done and not just braces then totally recommend you go to Jim. You don’t just want straight teeth if your profile isn’t great etc

I went to Karen Brookes in Rothesay Bay beause she is amazing, but it did cost $8,000. There is an orthodontist in Orewa, some people use, but I dont know how good she is.

Stephanie Turner Pribicevich, seems like having to go back to Thailand to get them tightened every month or so would be costly? I used Barry Pickens in Glenfield, my brother used someone called Merv in Warkworth, don't know if he is still there. Both did good jobs.

Highly recommend Susan Carpenter in Orewa!! I don't find her that expensive - 6 grand for my girl and well worth it. My two other girls will be going to her as well

Susan Carpenter in Orewa is awesome. Very professional. Braces are expensive - had to pay for twins! They have a payment scheme. Braces need adjusting every 6 weeks so travelling to Thailand might not be an option!

William has been to Kumeu Dental for his plate and 1 st stage Max and will be going back for braces. They've been great with treatment options and information and payment plans etc. I'd definitely recommend them

Definitely Definitely Heather Keal, Hobsonville. She is an actual Orthodontist. Kumeu Dental are nice but he is a dentist that does Some orthodontics. Heather won't rush you into anything.

We have been very happy with Paul@Kumeu Dental. He is a qualified orthodontist contrary to rumour, I asked. You can only call yourself an Orthodontist if that's all you specialise in. I would highly recommend him.

Heather Keal was wonderful - when another 'chain group' dentist suggested $thousands for treatment for ms 7, Heather suggested waiting, showed us photos of another child with the same dental problems that required much less work after waiting a few years. I think we're supposed to go back when she's 9 or 10.
