Sounds like he needs socialization so he's not afraid of other people. Obedience classes are a good option because he will be with other people and dogs. He may need to just get out more and be around other people. Looks like you've had some good suggestions here. I would definitely take advantage of one of them. As some have said, Jerry Lyda is good. I've never met him myself, but have heard good things about him. Take advantage of some help, because the problem could get worse, and that would be sad. It doesn't have to. He just needs guidance; the right kind which a trainer can help you with. Very much agree with what Lia Tillman Cpdt-ka said. Using positive reinforcement methods is very important. I don't know her, but totally agree with her.
