Where is a good source for ordering Malaseb, without a vet prescription? Cannot find where I ordered mine last. Thanks a million!
Jay G. replied:
We get ours using Amazon. Have been getting it for at least 3 years. Jan Gammill

Cheryl Klebacha Weaver, the one I got from my vet expires in 2017, the other one I have doesn't have an expiration date on it. If it hasn't been opened it is probably still effective.
Kathryn S. replied:
Pat Baker steered me to Entirely Pets, with no prescription. It's a good price on Amazon also. Especially if you are able to take advantage of one of their no shipping charges offer. See here for Entirely Pets: http://www.entirelypets.com/malsham12 ozb.html
Maria F. replied:
Amazon, dogs.com, a few other places...its good for about a year or so in a dark cool place....may last longer too

I get mine from healthypets.com or entirelypets.com
I need a veterinarian asap . I'm fostering a dog but he has a big lump on his leg . I need to know any low cost clinics or even one that does bills later . Please...
Melissa M. replied:
There's not a vet in this area that will do payment arrangements without some SERIOUSLY extenuating circumstances. You can thank prior deadbeat clients for that one. Care Credit would be an option & most vets in the area accept it. Unfortunately, at th is hour, you're looking at an emergency vet if you want to be seen tonight. If you're looking for a good clinic that I'm sure will have openings tomorrow, try Pine Meadow in Yorktown. Their number is 757-599-3326 & they have 4 doctors, all of which are excellent & I'm very picky about who I recommend for a veterinarian. I've worked for 16 so far, in 3 different states, & not all of them would be recommended by me. smile emoticon You're looking at an initial evaluation definitely, possible x-rays, possible fine needle aspirate, possibly biopsy, maybe bloodwork. It all depends on what the doctor finds upon examination. Unfortunately, lumps on the leg can be so many different things. This may not be a cheap visit. Please be prepared for that possibility & let the clinic know what you're comfortable working with, financially, when you schedule the appointment. That will help you avoid any awkward discussion of "I didn't realize the visit was gonna cost so much. I've only got x amount of money to pay right now". Also, you can ask for a treatment plan after the initial exam prior to any further diagnostics or services are done, that way you can discuss what you can & can't afford with the doctor & they can help you decide which services to proceed with to get the "bang for your buck". Hope everything goes well!

Dr. Brown at Martinez animal hospital. Our cat was bitten by a wild animal, and they worked extensively with us. They were very reasonable. The cat is all better now too.
David N. replied:
We have used Dr. Brown at Martinez Animal for 30 years for large and small animals. Always impressed by his work, his care, and reasonable pricing.
Lynda A. replied:
Roger Pilcher used to come into our shop, Bob - he wears some of the loveliest artwork - i imagine you would enjoy seeing it. Though i never met his wife who is the vet, i got the impression that they are compassionate and caring people who truly love the animals they care for . . . i hope your pup feels better soon! xo
Rhonda P. replied:
We use McDuffie Animal Hospital. Even when we lived in Martinez this is where we brought our fur family.
Julie M. replied:
I go to Dr. Causey in Lincolnton; over the bridge a few miles. There are 2 vets very close to one another; he's the second one. Tim Causey. I went to Wester in Thomson with a stray cat - they gave her a shot and she died in 24 hrs. NEVER AGAIN.
Jennifer R. replied:
Dr Gross has one of the best reputations in the area and a lot of experience. Another vet I like is Greenbrier Veterinarian Services. Their vet worked at the clinic I went to when I lived in Augusta. She recently opened this place. She's very good. I was always happy for my animals to see her.
Need a good veterinarian for our old man, who has everybody had luck with?

Westside Animal Hospital (Dr. Gary Wilkes). We've been going to him since we moved to Augusta in 1993. He's the best around in my opinion. Wouldn't go anywhere else...on another note, his costs are very good!

Does anybody know a vet that is cheap for ppl with low income to take to get there kitten shots & spayed? Thanks! :-))
Sandra S. replied:
You can get & give shots from Tractor Supply for around $10. Watch FB for various places offering spay/neutering specials. Ck McDuffie Animal hospital. They have monthly specials time to time. Dogwood was usually reasonable from what I was told. $60 was what I had been told last year.
Jessica J. replied:
I'll never go to anyone other than Dr. Gradous. He neutered my kitten for only $40, no run around. And just a month or so ago, he contracted a flesh-eating bacteria & almost died, but Dr. Gradous literally saved his life.
Shelby R. replied:
I've used Dr Gradous but I've also heard Dr Jeffcoat was cheap also off of peach orchard
Karen N. replied:
Mcduffie Animal Hospital is running a special right now....they have done all our pets and we love them so much...like family!

Columbia Co AS does it for $15 with lifetime registration and you don't need to be a resident...maybe call to be sure that hasn't changed for 2016
Jami B. replied:
Dogwood Park Animal Clinic does it for $25 with lifetime membership.

Well just an update. Maggie woke up this morning and her whole face was swollen, we had to take her to the vet, Dr. Tom said she had been bitten by a copperhead, we received two shots and lots of antibiotics. He said to be careful with the weather the way it's been snakes are more aggressive.
Barbara B. replied:
Warm Sweet oil or a small amount of peroxide

I have used this recipe for years. If you can tell if it is yeast based, you can also go to walmart and pick up some of the 7 day yeast infection cream and use it in her ears. http://www.zimfamilycockers.com/EarCleaner.html
