Tiffany, I am going to add you to a Facebook group my HypnoBirthing teacher started. The moms on there are all so supportive! You'll be able to get tons of doula referrals, doctor referrals, etc., etc! Anything birth or baby related! Go on there and start asking questions about having a more positive experience. You may also want to consider retaking the HypnoBirthing class- my teacher now offers classes in SLC. Or take a different class entirely (I have read a lot about Birth Boot Camp and it sounds fabulous- you can even take it online). I think you are smart to hire a doula, but you also need to arm yourself with a high quality class (from your description and our class comparisons, your first HypnoBirthing class was really subpar). I truly hope this is a better experience for both you and the baby!
Cheryl P. replied:
I had a doula for my first two, and I recommend it for everyone! I wished we had gotten one for our third as well. You can go to dona.org to get all kinds of info!
