Looking for recommendations for day care that specializes with kids with ADHD/Autism that are also open weekends.

Yes you should give Two Rivers Head Start a call to see if they can help. But you may have to have to try to find a babysitter that has experience with children with special needs and can work with your availability (care.com for instance) Good luck!
Jennifer L. replied:
Try looking on sites such as Care.com for a sitter who is experienced with children with ADHD/AUTISM, you may come across a student looking for work that also has lower rates and availability on weekends. Downside to Care.com though is it requires you to create a paid account. Search for similar sites that are free or affordable for you. How old is your child and what is your work schedule like? I know of a few sitters I can send your information to that also may be able to help.

Ann Wendel ^see what I mean. No wonder I can't work. You've been more help than some of my "friends" and "family" out here and apparently there isn't anything that allows a single parent to work at all in Illinois. Worst place in the states to have a child with special needs.
Monica G. replied:
You can call to YWCA 630) 790-6600. Ask for a child care provider or child care center and tell them what you need. Around Aurora area there are some child care providers open the programs in a weekends.

Do you know any of the parents at your son's school? Could you ask around and pay one of the Mom's? Or, try putting a help wanted sign up at Aurora Univ. Maybe one of the college kids, or a group of them, would help out!

Aurora Early Learning Center on College Ave. You’d have to do 5 days a week though. Very affordable, they can help you fill out the Childcare Assistance Application if you need it (then your cost is based off of your income).
