We are looking for a new mechanic. Our old mechanic turned out to be a huge disappointment. Any recommendations?

I've been going to Canby Car Care. And I've been asking for dealer parts because the Napa parts don't last.

I only trust Vancouver Auto Group (dealership) - able to work on all makes & models. Worth the 1 hour drive up there. I could tell you horror stories about the car repair places through out Oregon. I've had to sue two different shops for causing my car to explode. More than 8 years later I'm still in ligation fighting to get my money back. The small mom'pop places can't afford the millions of dollars it costs to have the latest and most advanced equipment. Plus, few shops can afford to pay the money ($$$$) to have a ASE Certified Master Mechanic who takes updated classes and certifications every year. Dealerships are the only ones who have access to updates on service bulletins - info that relates to how correct a certain problem, how to install a part the right way, ect.... very important info. I could write a 500 page book on how mechanics rip people off. aftermarket parts are a waste of your money - Napa, o'riellys, auto zone, carquest ect...
