I've see nMichael Musgrove at Central Texas Mental Health for several years. I don't know what part of Cedar Park you're in, but he's in Round Rock on 35, right past 79. He accepts Aetna, but I don't know if he's taking new patients.

I just went through the same thing. I was calling around for months to no avail but finally found someone. You may want to investigate psychiatric nurse practitioners. They have prescribing power, work with psychologists and can be easier to get into see than a proper psychologist. Good luck!

Its hard. Its challenging to find someone in network, just as other medical specialties - but made even harder by the fact that a lot of mental health professionals are self employed and do not take insurance. I found myself a wonderful therapist who was taking new patients on sliding scale while she was interning - and I have followed her for almost 7 years now. She still takes me on sliding scale. She was also able to refer me to a low cost psychiatrist as well, who was so accommodating about my finances.

You can also find a Psychiatrist and self pay, then file out of network forms for your insurance for reimbursement. This might be worth it if you find someone you really like. Unfortunately Psychiatrist and LPCs don't always feel the need to take insurance and the ones that do are always booked. Also worth mentioning if you are eligible for an HSA definetly contribute because you can use those pre-tax dollars to pay for your office visits. Depending on your tax situation you might save 20-25%! Good luck.

Try Dr. Chi Li, he's located in Central Austin, phone number is (512) 305-4100
Why are there so many threads like this in the Austin sub? To help OP, I have seen multiple people post about long wait times to be seen as a new psychologist in town. A co-worker had to wait 6 months to see someone. So you might want to hurry up and book an appointment.

Mods, please add a mental health/counseling/drug rehab FAQ to the sidebar please. These posts are depressing as fuck and make me miss the "bachelor party ideas" threads more.

If your income is below 200% of the federal poverty line the child could be eligible for Medicaid or Chip which would cover behavior health services. You can also try Austin Child Guidance Center. austinchildguidance.org
