I've done work with both Ralph lobato and kip hoenburg. They both do good work from what I've seen. Farmington construction is another one. They have been around for 50 year. Personally I wouldn't recommend otis goodluck but that just my opinion
Who's the best drilling contractor, directional outfit and energy comp in the patch?? No wrong answers just wondering if there is a favorite out there.
Steve B. replied:
I've drilled for bronco nomac h&p and now push for Cactus I think the best to work for is cactus because they promote from within and take care of their own and like someone said earlier you can walk-in the office and Ron Tyson will speak to you and know you . If a decision is made he makes it not a board room decision they still give bonus's to hands quarterly and yearly and raises every quarter up to three years
Cactus has a yard in Odessa however they don't hire out of it, only the OKC yard, or online cactusdrilling.comThe HR dept is going to start a job fair once a quarter but haven't heard when yet

I've worked for Baker and Sperry. They're both to big, you're just a number to them. Sperry Sun isn't the same since Halliburton bought them out. I'm a smaller company kind of guy. I drilled for Greywolf before Precision bought them then drilled/pushed for Nabors & Patterson. Greywolf was more my style. To much BS with Nabors and Patterson. Now I work for Scientific and I like it. I think the best DD's in the field work for either Scientific or DDC (it depends on the office they're out of a lot) The best rigs are FBD & H&P in my eyes. I like working for the small energy comps, the big ones have to many rules/procedures and micro manage to much. You can't drill a well from an office. That's just my opinion for what its worth.

I roughnecked for Scandrill and if I had to go back to that, that's where I would go. Small company with good iron. Directional I would have to say Professional Directional. As far as drilling company's they are all the same to me, the company man on location determines whether they are good or bad.
Todd S. replied:
Baker Inteq Directional. Hands down for the big companies. A lot of smaller directional companies are good too.
