-Valley Psychological Group (Truxtun) -Advanced Medical Psychiatric (Calloway) -CSUB counselor training clinic. They are advanced graduate clinicians supervised by a licensed Marriage and family therapist. I mention this one because it is low cost -even free if you don’t have money - I found this very helpful when I was in between jobs. You can also call your insurance or check their website to get a list of providers and call around and just flat out ask. Don’t hesitate to change to a new one if you’re not 100% comfortable with someone. Hope this helps. Have a good day and Good luck!

if you've recently got a job, check with your HR department regarding the Employee Assistance Program. EAP offers free sessions of therapy/counseling a year. Valley Psychological Group off of Truxtun and S st. is a wonderful place for you. Wishing you the best

If you’re getting to a point that you feel unsafe, you can always go to Mary K. She’ll, 24/7.

I used to see one who worked out of the Ming Office Park, but I would recommend that if you aren't comfortable with the first one you try, just move on and find another. It will be important that you find one that you're able to talk to openly.

Will your new job have insurance? I had Kaiser and they have mental health services, you just pay your normal copay like a doctor's visit. Someone else mentioned CSUB, which I've also always heard great things about. Take care of yourself and be well!

An RT friend of mine and I just got up here last week. Furnished housing is a bitch to find. I don’t even know how many combined hours we spent calling and emailing people. What can you spend on housing? We ended up 3 k month to month in Newark with a washer and dryer in unit and the realtor (who has been nothing but awesome) furnished it for us once we committed to the lease.
Requiemsorn replied:
With everything going on there I’d recommend not uprooting and just saving yourself exposure, but I’m sure you’ve considered that. At this point you may be able to find an air bnb that will be interested in a longer rent as many people aren’t visiting.
checkedem replied:
If you don’t mind me asking, what is exactly an “obscene amount of money?” I heard NYC was offering 10 k/week....but is that really worth it when you don’t know if you have enough PPE?
jasonwc22 replied:
Too good to pass up? Unless yall get sick. Theyres a reason the amount is obsene!!! That being said, see if any other travelers ur husband knows are going up there.
ella625 replied:
I’d recommend looking for an AirBnB, some homes have a promotion going on for health care workers where prices are reduced! Also, some hotels are doing free stays for a week at a time, you can find the link on the AARC website!

I'm actually more shocked that therapists would push their religion on patients. It seems pretty unethical to me. Maybe it's just frowned upon.

Joseph Lancaster. He's a little bit of a hippy but he's great. A very down to earth dude, but also a professional, who isn't afraid to call you on your bullshit (or say the word "bullshit" for that matter. I found it refreshing).
