I used prancing pooches [1] recently (overnight stay) and they were pretty great. They have overnight packages, leave notes, etc. Plus the owner lives on the east side of the park. Tell them Jack (the brindle pit bull) sent you. 1. http://www.prancing-pooches.com/

We used rover.com to find a dog sitter. We ended up using someone outside of Canton, but we really liked her and will be using her again.

Charm City Dogs is awesome, no cages and the people are great

my pup ADORES SoBo Dog Daycare & Spa .. which also has boarding. Its the only place I will take my dog. Dogs play free from cages all day until night time, when its time to go to bed. There isn't vet attached BUT there is an online live camera so you can check on your love while you are away playing. Never have had any issues with them. She's never returned sick or sad or injured.

I use Rover.com. Its in home boarding and is pretty inexpensive. :)
Cat boarding options? I'll be out of town from 6/28 through 7/6 or 7/7. Looking for good, safe options to board my feline pal. Trying not to come back to a dead or...

I think finding a reputable cat sitter or having a friend check on the cat everyday would be better than boarding the cat. Since cats don't like new places and it would be a lot less stressful for the cat to stay home! I've heard good things about this place: http://www.walkthedogbaltimore.com/ but I have never used them myself. Good luck!

Would you consider a pet sitter? I have used one for 2 years now.

get one of those [automatic feeders](http://www.amazon.com/Aspen-Pet-LeBistro-Portion-Automatic/dp/B0016BVY2U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403203015&sr=8-1&keywords=automatic+cat+feeder), a [large capacity water dispenser](http://www.amazon.com/Bergan-Petite-Gourmet-Gallon-Waterer/dp/B0009YS90K/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1403203046&sr=8-4&keywords=cat+water+dispenser), and you could be fine if you had a friend stop by 3-4 times during that period to scoop the litter and refill the water the plus side of the automatic feeder is that your cat wont wake you up in the morning anymore because it's hungry

I'm sorry, but in /r/baltimore we do not condone any torture, regardless of the method. Cat boarding has been shown time and again to be a cruel and ineffective interrogation technique. In addition to be dangerous to the subject, the cat is also put in a difficult position. Post reported.

I too recommend a petsitter. Ask your vet if they can recommend one or if one of the vet techs petsits.

we use (and are happy with) http://www.baltimoredogwalking.com/ for our cats

If you gotta board them go with CHAT (Cat Hospital at Towson) or Eastern Animal Hospital on Eastern Ave. Trust me. Wife has worked at both and at several other vet places around here. They're your best options.
bmorewildcat replied:
Agreed, cat sitter is best. However, if you have to board - Noah's Ark in Glen Burnie near BWI. The people are very caring and my cat came back not traumatized the few times I have taken her there. I can't say the same for the Falls Road establishment. I do not recommend. They don't seem to care and the cat smelled like feces and was completely traumatized.
Bebinn replied:
Pretty late to be looking into this, considering that's over the holiday. Most vet offices do boarding or know of the best places. I really don't recommend it though, the cat will most likely get freaked out because of the dogs at the boarding place.

Shug's Sunny Day Pet Care. Couldn't ask for anything more. They're amazing. But it's a guy and his wife, and they work together, so you'd have to adjust your gender stipulation, but the care they provide is exceptional.
