I'm not a seafood eater, but my understanding is that this place has gotten quite popular under the radar a bit locally: http://bit.ly/1 l4 fnje One thing I noticed about it over a period of years is that it started out as a khao thom style metal tables joint and within a year or so half the cars stopping there were Mercedes and it's steadily renovated and grown a bit bigger and nicer. Usually a good sign. That said, I haven't gone to check on it in a while. It was affordable as I recall and it opens around dusk.

Anyway, definitely no 100' neon signs and web sites and busloads of tourists, it's a legit local seafood joint. Not fancy, for sure, but if you're going for the food it's supposed to be quite good. There r lots of well-priced restaurants at Bangkhuntien Chaitaley......I don't know specific one. Btw, Lam Charoen Seafood offers a good food but the pricing is considered a bit too high for me because their locations are mostly in big department stores in CBD.

If you want Thai/Danish food crossover you should try Restaurant Sra Bua at Siam Kimpinski hotel Bangkok "Conceptualised by renowned Henrik Yde Andersen, whose Kiin Kiin restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark, is currently the only Thai restaurant in the world holding a Michelin star." - that's an experience not to miss.. Mrs. Balbir's! Suk Soi 11/1 (Nana BTS station, exit 3). There are several Indian restaurants around there with menus displayed so you can compare prices, but Mrs. Balbir's is the tastiest.:)

Khana Khazana on Sukhumvit 11/1 is pretty good as well. Or Saras on soi 20. Both vegetarian, both pretty cheap.

Tine Summertime Bonde is quite right - the little takeaway in Terminal 21 basement is great. Its food is supplied by Cocos Restaurant at the Lotus Hotel on Soi 33. I love Indian food and I think this might be the best in town. Mrs. Balbir's! Suk Soi 11/1 (Nana BTS station, exit 3). I used to live and work in India and this is the best I have found to date outside of New Delhi. Very, very good food and reasonable prices. The butter chicken or shrimp with garlic naan is a must try! Enjoy:)

I can really recommend Aryaa's, located next to Nana BTS station: http://www.aryaas.net/ It's a vegetarian restaurant that offers both Southern Indian Dosa and Northern Indian curries. So you get a great choice and fantastic food at very reasonable prices - I eat there at least twice per week.

the Mango Tree at Patpong is very nice too .. bit pricier than normal ... but have all kind of thai food and is nice athmosphere with great cocktails and top service.

A friend of mine mentions Long Table as a possibility. I think the bar is a little loud for my tastes (both in decibels and taste) but I have never tried the food. Just had a look at the menu though and it looks interesting.

Most authentic Italian food: Pala Pizza Romana, under Asoke BTS at ground level corner of Sukhumivit. Amazing menu. Not to be missed!
