Rhi Hayat we arrived when my sons were 3 and 5 and they didn't speak Catalan or Spanish. There was a difficult adjustment stage for a few months but 7 years later they are both happy boys trilingual boys. Children's capacity to learn languages is amazing. They were in public schools up until we move to poblenou. Now they are in what is called a concertada, or semi-private. I have been happy with both public and private. And to give you an idea, my kids were speaking Catalan and Spanish in school by January.
