Tips on language tutors? I'd like to get a private tutor to learn Spanish. What's a standard rate for this? Any recommendations for services?

I chose to have private lessons in a language school because I wanted someone qualified and experienced. After lots of Internet searching I chose the Dime school near plaça Lesseps because of their location, great reviews and very reasonable pricing. You can find all the details in their site dimebarcelona.com. So far I am pretty happy with it. There are quite a few other schools in Barcelona and most of them have Google reviews so you can see what people say.

I have a great lady. She's from Spain, speaks English, comes to your home, has worked in several schools in Bcn and does private tutoring for a living. PM me and i'll give you her info. Plus she is super nice.

Honestly, if you're looking for one on one classes, try [here](https://www.verbling.com). You can find plenty of people under $20/hr (I've seen as low as $11/hr), all of whom have experience, varied availability, etc. It's all online, so that keeps the costs down (the platform is Google Hangouts). You go through the main site for payments, and any customer service-type issues. I did a few trials before I found someone I liked, and I was specifically looking for European Spanish (vs. SA/CA). I like that it's flexible as far as scheduling (if you need that), and you can also jump in on mini-group classes with different teachers if you want, and those are super cheap.
