Something really needs to be done with housing on the Cape. People are in desperate need of a place to live, the ones who work and live here year round. Owners are...
Lia H. replied:
This is why I moved last month. It's just not worth it especially for someone my age. Yes the pay up there is decent but the high cost of living makes up for that. I was working my ass off and going to school full time (went from a honors student to academic probation) because I needed to live. Not only that but the hostility of the culture in regards to new people is ridiculous. I absolutely loved Cape Cod as a little girl and I hope I'll find that love again. But for what I've seen for the past 2 years, I highly doubt it. Something definitely needs to be done.

John, Unfortunately no one has trouble renting houses for crazy money. They are not sitting empty. There is such a shortage of rentals. Supply and Demand.
Meaghan M. replied:
Valerie Bitzer, without what those taxes pay for you wouldn't be able to get to your home. And there'd be no police/fire/rescue in case of emergency, no schools, no DPW, no basic utilities, etc.

Hello All! comments are very interesting. I am sorry for the position you are all in. I work with a bank that does little to no money down. I can help you find a two- three bedroom for approx $1,000.00 plus taxes and insurance. You get a huge tax write off at the end of the year. It is way cheaper then renting. When you take into consideration the condition the tenants leave the properties that they rent the taxes and the cost of the repairs for what the tenants break and what the Cape Cod weather does to these properties...
