David Cook is great. We used him in 2008 when we bought our home and on Monday for our second. Very thorough. Was $452 with tax I believe. He did the report the same day, reviewed it with us and gave it to us on a flash drive.

We're using Tom Merrifield for our lawyer. All the quotes we got ranged from $3400/$3800. $1975 of that was the land transfer tax though, which is fixed, not set by the lawyer.

I had a home inspector in Sept. We used Greg Garland. He was very thorough. My Dad is a retired contractor and he walked through with Greg for the inspection, he was impressed by his knowledge. He was only $350 and the report was done by the next day in my inbox.
