Hutch had it done right before school started and LOVES it. He is part eagle now. He's sees way better than me with my contacts. He used Dr. Woo. She is expensive, but was highly recommended.

I did mine 10 yrs ago!!! I LOVE it! And.... If it stopped working tomorrow I'd do it again!! I walked out of the office after surgery and was reading a restaurant menu for supper with NO GLASSES OR CONTACTS! It was the BEST decision ever. Thomas Hebert from BR did mine but he's retired now. I've heard good things about Dr. Singer in Laffy. Wish I could recommend someone but I'm not familiar with their work. I just know that after a consult with Dr. Lahaye, I was disappointed and chose not to do it there. My best advice to you is to do your RESEARCH. Find the place where u feel comfortable.

I had my eyes done by dr. Micheal Haik at EMC. Best decision ever. Love awaking and being able to not have to reach for glasses.
Sending good vibes out to Fernando, who is having Lasik surgery today...Here's to looking at the world through new eyes! On a different note, does anyone have any...
Anybody do lasik surgery? Where did u go? (BR area) do you recommend doing it?
Jeanne S. replied:
Good doctors also at the Laser Center for Sight- physicians Tower by OLOL.
Jo S. replied:
Eye care and surgery center on old Hammond. No complaints so far.
Darren T. replied:
Whatever you do, DO NOT use Dr. Mark Meadows! I had it done with minus 9 vision. He should have never done it but, the greedy bastard wanted my money. A year later I ended up needing Cataract Surgery. The computers could not calculate the correct lens for the missing cornea so, I ended up having two Cataract Surgeries and two Lens replacement Surgeries. All of that caused Macular Degeneration in my left eye. It has left me blind in my left eye and now battle glaucoma in that eye. Only do it if you have a low minus in both eyes!
Any recommendations on where to go to get Lasik surgery?

Dr. Williamson did mine also. Definitely recommend him and his office, wouldn't let anyone else do it! The procedure is soooo easy and quick! Worth the $$! Good luck love!

I used Dr. Meadows in Baton Rouge. He is awesome. Same as Jessica. I had a Valium and was able to see the next day. Best thing I ever did. No regrets. I have 4 family members that also got theirs done with Dr. Meadows. No complaints.
Any of my friends had LASIK done & can recommend a good doctor? Also pros/cons of getting it and recovery time? Thankssss :)

Glare, and dryness are cons. Recovery is instant. Can't drive home day of surgery bc of medication they give you to relax. You will have a 1 day post op visit, a 2 wk, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. Some places may skip the 3 month depending on protocols. Lots of drops first few weeks to help with dryness and fight infection/inflammation. Eye Surgery Center is a group of MDs with a good rep in the Baton Rouge area
