i have no picture to post...just a question - is there a high-class restaurant left in or around battle creek? the kind you would dress up to go to
Marcie T. replied:
There is high-class restaurant in the Casino. And Malia's, downtown is very nice. Also Addington Hills Cafe.
Marcie T. replied:
No, Addington Hills is open for dinner; just not every night. If you want some place where everyone dresses up etc. I am not sure you will find it, even in Kalamazoo. People dress more casually everywhere. Only place I can think of where people "dress" for dinner is the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
Does anyone remember the restaurant called sambos. it was where home spun is now. it reminded me of a big boy restsurant.
Joel B. replied:
Gropp's can be found at www.fishofstroh.com . Along with a complete history of the family and the restaurants.
Sue K. replied:
If I remember I think it was called another name before it was The Homespun or Sambo's.
Joe L. replied:
It was on the southwest corner of Columbia and Riverside as I recall. Remember eating there in the late 70's or early 80's. It was on the same side of Columbia as Mr. Steak.
Does anyone remember Chi Chis Restaurant that was in Lakeview Square Mall? I thought they had good food and loved their Seafood Nachos and their Margaritas.
Lois L. replied:
Chi Chis was my favorite. I miss it.
Sandra T. replied:

Nita B. replied:
I loved to eat there....I "heard" that their kitchen/food couldn't pass Health Inspection[s]s....
Greg N. replied:
Chi Chis closed within a year after opening here in Tucson, they couldn't compete with the real thing
Bobi H. replied:
I remember getting off of work one day just before Christmas, hitting Chi Chis for some Marguaritas and then Christmas shopping. The mall was a whole different place that day.
