What is the name of the place you can take your old bikes too, have them refurbished and then they give them to someone in need?

I'd recommend checking out the Ohio City Bike Co-Op: http://www.ohiocitycycles.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=25&Itemid=44

Bike Co-Op at Cahoon with my girl Jennifer Smillie!
Does anyone know if the Village Bicycle Coop fixes bikes in general or just those donated to be resold? I have two bikes that need brakes fixed and one chain repair....
Stacey D. replied:
You are allowed to take your bikes in there during certain hours and they will teach you how to fix it (that's my understanding anyway). Their open shop hours are listed on their website. www.villagebicycle.org/events-schedule
Jennifer D. replied:
Century Cycles in River is awesome if you don't use the coop. They do a great job and don't over charge.
Alison C. replied:
Ask Jennifer Jennifer Smillie.
David B. replied:
The idea is that they don't want to compete with local shops. There may be liability insurance factors at work here too. I'm not sure. They DO teach you how to do your own maintenance / repairs, but you need to be willing to get hands-on. They have all those weird specialty tools you might need to get things done. That said, most of the local shops do great work. Century is generally my go-to, but there are others. Beat Cycles in Detroit in Lakewood is also nice.
