Hiya! I'm an American living here in 'hood. Wondering if anyone has recs for a GP? I tried Goldington Rd and some others. Seems no one is taking new patients. Thoughts? x
Mark B. replied:
Dunno how reliable it is, but this search facility should show you GP surgeries that are accepting new patients. http://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/GP/LocationSearch/4
Can anyone recommend a good (and friendly) GP in Bedford?
Thanks.
Clare T. replied:
When I signed up to a GP in December the only Bedford practices I could find taking new patients were Dr Das on Goldington Road and the new surgery at North Wing.
Angie B. replied:
Tally Tynan

It's been even harder to find a decent GP surgery since Shakespeare rd Surgery and Lansdowne Rd Surgery closed down at the end of October 2016 and on 8 th November 2016
Alison C. replied:
Sarah Hood at Rothesay Surgery is excellent
Philippa F. replied:
If I wasn't with Goldington Avenue then yes Sarah Hood at Rothsay Surgery is very good. But lacks a little on the rare conditions.
Sue S. replied:
The docs and staff at De Parys surgery are really friendly and helpful
My GP, Clapham Road surgery is closing the practice. Any suggestions for a good replacement? Ta muchly.
Sharn D. replied:
Linden Rd Surgery and Putnoe Medical Centre are taking on patients
Ben W. replied:
Here you go, find doctors and dentists, see if they're taking on patients, read and write reviews and explore what resources they've got onsite... https://www.nhs.uk/pages/home.aspx
Jo C. replied:
I’ve been with the same G.P. Since I came to Bedford 24 years ago. Dr Goulding from DeParys. He has looked after my mind and body very well in all those years and is superb over my transition.
Rayner C. replied:
Go to Rothesay surgery Neal. They run surgeries so you don't have to book appointments!
Kerry H. replied:
I don't know if they're taking new patients at the moment, but I've been with Goldington Avenue Surgery since I moved to Bedford in 2002 - they are brilliant!

Nansi R. replied:

I am sure I have asked this question before. Can anyone recommend a good local GP. At pemberly really need an appointment and the only good GP that I have experienced is...
Claire D. replied:
Sarah Hood at Rothsay place. First come first serve appointments morning and afternoon.
Jane P. replied:
I think you may find most of the surgeries in Bedford are not taking on new patients...Lansdowne Surgery closed two weeks ago and left 7000 patients without a surgery. I would consider myself lucky to have a GP at present...dont jump until you have seriously considered what you may leave behind.
Really would love your help.. Could any you refer an excellent foot specialist and physio. My poor husband is in a lot of pain and not sure where to start.. His GP...
Susan C. replied:
Definitely the Therapy Centre on Goldington Road.
Helen M. replied:
I second Mair Seal at core performance. She is very good indeed
Has anyone been to the chiropodist on castle road? Do you know if they take appointments or if they have to be GP referred? Also any reviews would be helpful. Ta!
Ellen C. replied:
Christine Fuge comes to my house. Lovely lady and great chiropodist. £25 for appointment. Contact me for number
Hiya,
Can someone recommend or know a Bedford based GP who would happily speak on camera about health, wellness and the dangers of poor health, diabetes etc?
Thanks.
