I was also going to suggest Tim Harlan. I believe his experience had a lot to do with disability law, and Social Security litigation. Certainly worth one appointment at least to explore possibilities. You certainly have our support and encouragement in this daunting prospect, but the good thing is that you have each other and don't have to face all of it alone. I used Parmele Law Firm. You will be turned down on first application. I used them for the appeal, which was denied...this can be pretty normal too. Then went before a judge and was approved. Parmele was great...very professional. The whole timeframe was 1.5 years. I had mental and physical. I would think seizures would be organic, therefor, physical. But we could be wrong.

Hello Washingtonians. I am actually an Oregonian, but hired an attorney from Seattle for my disability case. He does not handle social security cases. Not lucrative enough, LOL. Any way, he is or at least was actually on the National Fibromyalgia board, which is how I found him. I have a private long term disability insurance policy which he helped me fight for. I did hire a local attorney here in Portland for my social security case. Attorney's won't take your case Until you have beeen turned down the first time, which will happen. This attorney was a waste of my money. He filed the appeal, which we were denied. He said next step was to go before a judge, but it would be at least 18-24 months before that would happen. I said I couldn't wait that long, he said I didn't have a choice and I said BS. I was the 'breadwinner' in our family. I went onto the social security website and looked up all of my diseases/ailments. They have very specific medical criteria they are looking for in your medical records. Because I had hired Steve Krafchick in Seattle, they had all my medical records on file. I had them send me the files and went through page by page. Then I highlighted each of the criteria that social security looks for. Mind you, they already had these records in their possession as well. Don't think they are going to go through stack of medical records in detail, because they don't. Then I sent a letter of rebuttal with these highlighted medical records. I was approved about 6-8 weeks later. The Portland social security attorney called to congratulate me and said he had never had a client win their own case before. He still took his $6000! It took me 3 years to get approved. Social security attorneys do not get paid if you don't get approved. They can only take a percentage of your 'back pay' up to a certain amount, which was $6K when I did it. So, I would recommend checking out the social security website in detail, there is actually a lot of good information there. If you are fighting for long term disability pay from an insurance company, I would recommend Steve Krafchick in Seattle. If you are in the Seattle area, perhaps his office can recommend a social security attorney?? Good luck!!

Try Binder & Binder. You can't be working when you file and you have to get a statement from your Dr. stating that you have fibromyalgia and it is expected to last longer than 12 months. Include your restrictions. Enormous amount of paperwork but don't give up!

One more, even if just as a reference. Contact Nash Disability Law in Chicago; absolutely outstanding; if nothing else, they could refer you as they don't waste time with minor leaguers. Tell them I sent you.

They did the application process for my husband and he didn't have to leave home for the process. They were very professional and caring and his disability was approved in 4 m.onths
