Has anyone tried the Nikon GP-1 GeoTagging device? Do you like it? Alternatives?
Dave L. replied:
GPS chips cost about $10, so paying $200 for such a device that _should_ be built into the camera is absurd and I won't be giving Nikon my money for intentionally screwing me. Here's some information I found online: http://dpanswers.com/content/prod_nikon_gps.php I personally geotag my photos using a script I wrote that popuates all sorts of metadata, but since I mainly do concert photography, the location is pretty easily looked up via last.fm or the google places API.

I'm quite familiar with how GPS works, we already paid for it with DOD money: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Positioning_System

The one I got from ebay is MetaGPS. Work just as well as the Nikon for $89. http://www.amazon.com/.../B003.../ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
Does anyone have a good primary care physician in the area that they recommend?
Anne G. replied:
I've been going to Melanie Brinkerhoff at Evergreen Medical Clinics in Sammamish and really like her. She's an ARNP. https://www.evergreenhealth.com/.../melanie_brinckerhoff...

Everyone at Bellevue Family Medicine is wonderful. My family have been patients there for 35 years. Dr. Peter Schock is hard to get into now, he's close to retirement, but he and his old business partner founded the place and he still works administrat ively in the practice. Basically, the whole staff is as wonderful as he is in their own way. I'd never consider another physician's office unless I'm looking for a specialty, in which case Bellevue Family Medicine gives great recommendations. We really like Dr. Bayles at Swedish Redmond, but he isn't the easiest to get last minute appointments with.
