I just got back from SPEC. They did X-rays and her lungs and abdomen were full of fluid. I could have taken her to UC Davis on oxygen, but they didn't think she would make it there. It was probably acute heart failure. I made the horrible decision to let her go. I cannot tell you how hard this was. I am still recovering from losing my little Max a year ago. I knew he didn't have much time left, tho, and so I was able to dote on him for a year and to feel that I had done everything I could possibly do to make his last year the best it could be. This was so unexpected, that I don't have that comfort. I will never know if I could have done more. And she wasn't a cuddly dog, so we weren't as close during her last year. I am just so so desolate.
